Thanks for the info. I have a question. Im renting a shared space and the owner of this business is asking me to have copy of all my clients intake forms to be kept there at the location. Should I be concerned I thought HIPAA comes into play here. My clients and paperwork confidential right?

Yes, they should be confidential. What would it be of use to the other person? And besides, your clients trusted you with those information, and might sue you if they found out that you divulged any info about them. Just explain to your co-renter that it should be confidential. With regards to the business owner, if you are his employee, he may ask for the records since your services is part of the company's services. Otherwise, he doesn't have the right to those papers.

Absolutely. It where me I'd ask the Bus owner to clarify their request. Again different states have dif laws.I have to keep all paperwork confidential in a locked file cabinet. Anything that got out I could justifiable be sued. Clients R trusting U w/their confid medical info. That trust is sacred. Does owner want info because hes trying to ensure your good at record keeping? What does your state laws website say? Is this the type of person who might be trolling 4 your client list? Find out.

Some newer Therapists R asking good questions. I did notice there's a tendency 4 some to ask what U would do almost like fishing for a diagnosis. Schools should stress it more that 1 of the reasons MT's get a bad rap is because it's exactly what Dr.'s R worried about. Us not having enough education, going where we shouldn't, guessing etc. Imagine if itsa fracture and a newer therapist calls it a sprain, decides 2 work on it, and ends up getting a lawsuit ? When in doubt, refer it out (To a Dr)

There has been recent news which came out in the November 2008 Issue of Archives of Dermatology which proves a traditional Chinese medicine works in 82% of its case study. Indigo Naturalis is a dark blue plant based powder which was used in the study. I think a bottle of it is around $20. Check out the article below and the magazine article.

I've had success using the product "Skin Zinc". It's an over the counter product that I tried after I quit responding to my prescriptions. I picked it up at Walgreens, but it should be found at any major drug stores.

The best treatment that works for my psoriasis is herbal remedies from serenaskin.com Ointment and spray cleared my skin and now i just take anti-psoriasis extract to keep the immune system under control, so it won't trigger the flare-ups. Worth a try.

If he's desperate, I'll give him the Old Chinese Medicine recipe I give kids for acne:

Get comfortable sitting in front of the TV with lots of pillows around. Choose your show and take off all metal (watches, rings, etc.) that you can (slows energy).

Take your left palm and put it on your right calf. Support it with pillows. We want you to relax (allows energy to zip). Now do the same with your other palm and calf. Watch your TV show (1 hour).

Do this a few days in a row, and your face will be like a baby's bottom.

Let me know if it works for his psoriasis!

TX Mom
